SUNDAY JULY 2
Dominique has played violin ever since she was 2 years old, starting in a local Suzuki program and then discovering Bluegrass from her grandfather’s love of the music from his family in Kentucky. They have played classical violin and viola in groups large and small, and also plays guitar and bass, joining a few punk bands as a member of the Girls Rock movement. Dominique traveled the UK and Ireland studying and playing the folk music that became American Bluegrass and has been learning new Americana and Bluegrass tunes ever since. And oh yes, Dominique is State Representative Dominique Johnson representing the 143rd Legislative District of Norwalk and Westport in Hartford. It is an honor and a joy to have her at First Folk Sunday.
