Howard Kesten on Percussion

Howard Kesten

Howard Kesten has performed as percussionist and guitar player for many years. Growing up in Queens New York, Howard’s band, the Majority of Us, toured New York City and the Tri-state for many years and opened for Neal Diamond during one of his NYC tours. Over the last decade Howard’s instruments of focus moved to the Cajon, and full drums.  He has provided percussion support for individual members of the Fairfield Counts during private practice sessions, and over the last 3 years he has performed with Lost in The Forest, a local rock band. He also backed well-known recording artist Kristin Kozhi during a number of recent performances

For 5 years Howard performed with a 30-piece ukelele band, the Cukes, providing free concerts for many Fairfield retirement communities, and public events. Most recently, with great pride, he has had the privilege of working with Suzanne Sheridan as her percussionist, during some meaningful performances.

On Monday nights, Howard is often found at the Horseshoe Café in Southport providing percussion for the “open mic” performers.  He and his wife, Jody, have lived in Norwalk for twenty years.
